Service charges and payments

Revenue from wastewater service charges and fees is dedicated to funding the services provided covering both the maintenance of existing infrastructure and the expansion needed to support growth.

Prescribed service charges, levied in accordance with the Local Government Act 1999, for wastewater services are included on rates notices issued by Mount Barker District Council, the owners of GMB Water. Other charges, including non-residential recycled water supply, volumetric charges for recycled water supply, and trade waste are invoiced directly by us throughout the year.

You will only have wastewater service charges on your rates notice if you receive a service from GMB Water in the form of wastewater, recycled water or bore water services.
